Production Supervisor

Location: Stockton, CA
Reports To: Plant Manager
Department: Production
Supervises: Production Employees
Classification: non-exempt

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Responsible for hiring, promotions and terminations.  Provide HR with complete documentation. 
2. Directly supervises all production lines.
3. Schedule daily work assignments.
4. Work with payroll to achieve accurate reporting of time cards.  Report all absences and vacation requests in a timely manner.
5. Responsible for identifying and ordering needed material.
6. Establish a good rapport with supply vendors.
7. Promote teamwork and achievement of Company goals by coordinating and participating in meetings between all departments to ensure the timely and accurate flow of information.
8. Provide timely and accurate labor tracking and production reports.
9. Establish performance objectives and criteria for staff and monitor performance on a timely and periodic basis.  Perform timely evaluation of all staff by written performance evaluations.
10. Provide training for all staff, ensuring job competency and efficient operations.
11. With assistance from the Production Manager, coach and counsel staff and take disciplinary action on an as-needed and timely basis, ensuring effective performance.
12. Demonstrate a personal commitment to the Company values; promote an environment that appreciates diversity and treats all people with respect, prohibiting discrimination and harassment of any kind.
13. Ensure a safe, healthy work environment by following all safety, health and environmental policies, procedures and regulations per the Company’s IIPP, job safe practices and other related programs.
14. Responsible for safety training of new employees.
15. Others duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

1. High School Diploma or equivalent
2. Technical ability to understand ethanol production

Qualifications

1) Minimum of 2 to 4 years experience in supervising of production and/or processing
2) Excellent organizational skills
3) Detailed oriented and multi-tasking is a must
4) Excellent verbal and written communication skills
5) Computer literate in Word and Excel
6) Strong communication and interaction skills
7) Valid California driver’s license

Physical Requirements

Requirements include: frequently stand and walk. Occasionally to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms, climb stairs/ladders or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, hear and smell.  Exposed to hot and cold weather conditions.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust or focus.
